Basic design course through art-based research in interior architecture education

This article presents the basic design course applications based on education of first-year interior architecture students. study aims to emphasize importance in design-oriented thinking process with practice through content course. Within scope study, art-based research was carried out and intersections its results are described. In studio, elements principles were conveyed techniques commonly taught schools architectural movements given students as term papers for research. The directs student create 2D 3D compositions by combining studies he/she has done during assignment. findings show that can reflect their new three-dimensional abstract spaces them education. While grounding this reflection, is form without color. also a significant correlation between students’ practices Gestalt Principles. emphasizes applying being integrated field-specific achieve better an experimental original studio product. With only first semester, examples determine understand forms approaches color knowledge, especially principles, using instead expression.
